To put them to the test, I took them on a winter camping trip at 6,500 feet, where freezing temperatures and high fire danger in Northern Arizona made it difficult to cook and stay warm. Using the SunCase 2425 and 3651, I powered everything I needed, proving just how reliable these units are in real-world conditions.
I cooked all my meals with a regular electric skillet and stayed warm in 20°F temperatures using a heated blanket. For lighting, I used simple shop lights from Harbor Freight, and thanks to solar power, I had more than enough energy to last the entire four-day trip—without the need for an RV.
Even though I didn’t take a deer this year, I was excited to return to my usual hunting spots without the hassle of staying warm in harsh conditions. With the wind, dry brush, and freezing temperatures, having a campfire wasn’t an option, but solar power made it a non-issue. After four days, I still had 35% charge left on the unit!
