Why DC power

Fewer conversions. More runtime.

Radios, LED lights, controls and broadband gear run on DC. Powering them from an AC station converts energy twice and loses some at every step.

Built to scale

Daisy-chain up to 20kWh.

Two Anderson SB175 connectors on every BBG link up to four units in parallel. Add a SunCaseâ„¢ and solar for a mobile solar-plus-battery system.

Answers

Portable DC power, explained.

What is a DC battery generator?
A DC battery generator is a portable LiFePO4 battery that powers equipment at its native DC voltage — 24V, 36V or 48V — instead of converting to AC first. NUEPower™ BBG units store up to 5,120Wh in a weather-resistant hard case and run silently with no fuel.
Why use DC power instead of an AC power station?
Many devices, including radios, LED lights, controls and broadband equipment, run on DC and normally use an external power supply to convert AC back to DC. Powering them directly from a DC battery generator skips the inverter and the power supply, which is 10–15% more efficient, increases runtime and removes two points of failure.
Which voltage do I need: 24V, 36V or 48V?
Match the native DC voltage of your equipment. 24V is the standard for military and government radios and comms. 36V and 48V match common broadband power supplies, and 48V powers Nanlux Evoke, Dyno and TK Series film lights through the CINE model.
Can I connect multiple battery generators together?
Yes. Each BBG has two Anderson SB175 connectors, so you can daisy-chain up to four units in parallel for about 20kWh of storage. Add a SunCaseâ„¢ and solar panels for a mobile solar-plus-battery system.
How long will a DC battery generator run my equipment?
Runtime (hours) ≈ battery watt-hours × 0.95 ÷ device watts. A 5,120Wh unit running a 200W DC light lasts about 24 hours. Use the power planning tool for your exact loads.
Do the battery generators work in cold weather?
Yes. The 48V, 48V CINE and 36V models are available with battery heating for cold-climate deployments.
How do I monitor battery status?
Every BBG includes the BAT-BMS Bluetooth app for iOS and Android, so you can check charge and status without opening the case. GPS tracking is available as an option on the 48V, 48V CINE and 36V models.
