Chapter 01 · The problem

Every generator
is a beacon.

Out here, sound carries and heat glows. A diesel generator running at 80–100 dB, with 450 °C exhaust, tells anyone within range exactly where you are.

Shut it down and the radios, sensors and drones go dark. For decades, that's been the trade: power or concealment. Pick one.

The SunCase™ 605 + EMILY 3000 ends the trade.

The engine has been cold for hours. The network hasn't blinked.

Laptops, radios and sensors run from the SunCase™ 605's clean pure sine wave output. Behind it, the EMILY 3000 converts methanol and air into a steady trickle of charge — at 48 dB, quieter than a normal conversation. No idling. No exhaust plume. No reason for anyone to look your way.

The system

Battery for the peaks.
Fuel cell for the long haul.

What is the SunCase™ 605 + EMILY 3000 kit? It's a hybrid off-grid power system from New Use Energy. The SunCase™ 605 — a 537Wh, 600W lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) power station — carries every load and surge. The SFC EMILY 3000, a military-ruggedized direct methanol fuel cell, recharges it with up to 3,000Wh per day.

The result: near-silent, low-signature power for silent watch, ISR, tactical communications, drone operations and disaster response — for days on a single fuel cartridge, day or night, in any weather.

How the SFC EMILY 3000 recharges the SunCase 605: air and an EFOY M10 methanol cartridge feed the fuel cell, which sends power to the SunCase; exhaust is only waste heat, water vapor and trace CO2

01 / LOAD

SunCase™ 605 carries the mission

Up to 600W of pure sine wave AC from a 537Wh LiFePO4 battery. It absorbs every surge — drone chargers, radios, laptops — with clean power that won't create RF interference.

02 / RECHARGE

EMILY 3000 refills it, silently

A steady 125W of DC charge, up to 3 kWh every 24 hours. Any load averaging 125W or less runs as long as the fuel lasts — about 88 hours per 10 L cartridge at full output.

03 / EXTEND

Add solar or a second cartridge

The SunCase™ 605's 400W solar charge controller harvests sunlight when it's there. SFC's DuoCartSwitch connects two cartridges to roughly double unattended runtime.

  2. Where a battery alone goes dark537Wh is spent. Without a fuel cell, you're rotating batteries or starting a generator.
  3. Day one. Nothing to hear.Fuel cell holding the load at 48 dB. Exhaust: 30–60 °C. No resupply.
  4. Day three. Still running. No refueling run, no engine start, no change in signature.
  5. Swap one cartridge. Keep watching.About 4.4 days in. Add a DuoCartSwitch and second cartridge to roughly double it.

What is a silent watch power system?

A silent watch system powers mission equipment — radios, sensors, optics, computers — without running a vehicle engine or generator. It keeps noise, heat and visual signatures low so a position stays concealed. The SunCase™ 605 + EMILY 3000 does this with a LiFePO4 battery for peak loads and a 48 dB fuel cell for continuous recharge.

Does the SunCase™ 605 + EMILY 3000 need sunlight?

No. The EMILY 3000 recharges the SunCase™ 605 day or night, in any weather, from methanol fuel cartridges. Solar is a bonus: the SunCase™ 605's 400W solar input lets you add panels when the sun is available.

How long will the kit run on one fuel cartridge?

At a 100W average load, roughly 4.5 days on one 10 L cartridge, versus about 5 hours on the SunCase™ 605 alone. At 50W, about 9 days. Adding a second cartridge with SFC's DuoCartSwitch roughly doubles that.

How long does the EMILY 3000 take to recharge the SunCase™ 605?

About 4 to 5 hours from empty at the fuel cell's full 125W output, depending on conditions.

How quiet is the EMILY 3000 compared to a generator?

The EMILY 3000 produces about 48 dB at 1 meter — quieter than normal conversation. A typical diesel generator produces 80–100 dB. Its exhaust runs at 30–60 °C versus 450–600 °C for a diesel generator, sharply reducing thermal signature.

Can I run it inside a vehicle or shelter?

Yes. SFC fuel cells are approved for operation in motor vehicles. Install the EMILY 3000 where it has adequate supply air and a path for exhaust air and waste heat.

Does it work in extreme cold?

The EMILY 3000 operates down to -13°F (-25°C). The SunCase™ 605 operates from 32°F (0°C) up, so in freezing conditions keep it inside the vehicle or shelter while the fuel cell works outside or alongside.

What does the EMILY 3000 emit?

Only water vapor, low-temperature waste heat and a little CO₂ — at full power, roughly what a person exhales while exercising. No diesel smoke and no engine exhaust.

Is the system maintenance-free?

No system is. Both units need periodic inspection and care, but with no engine, no oil and no spark plugs, upkeep is a fraction of a generator's.

Who should buy this kit?

Military units, special operations, government agencies, emergency managers and remote-site operators who need reliable power for days at a time without generator noise, refueling runs or dependence on the weather.
